I’m planning on buying my first bicycle this weekend…
Yeah, my first bike ever. Nothing too special, but I honestly have no idea where to start. If I’m just gonna casually ride it around the suburbs, do I really need to go to a bike shop? Any advice?

Bike shop, yes. Craigslist is also a good option sometimes. Question is, how much are you looking to spend?

My brother bought a Walmart bike and the chain broke after 2 months. Get an old steel frame from a used bike shop or craigslist.

A bike shop employee will be able to match a bike to your wants/needs. They will be able to fit it to your body for a more comfortable, efficient ride. Feel free to e-mail me if you have more questions jeffrey.cagle at gmail
